A simple step by step process:
Step 1: Register Project
Project Registration enables Project Team Formation. Optionally, Project Pages allow greater publicity. Greater publicity in turn leads to feedback, which can be a source of Business Intelligence.
If you are not interested in greater publicity you can keep your project confidential and focus on project organization.
Step 2: Identify Project Roles
Although each and every project is unique and has different needs, modern projects are often knowledge intensive and complex. The technical challenges faced in modern projects demand specialization. Specialization not only applies to technical roles but also management roles.
Taking into account specialization, a professional organization consists of complementary project roles.
Step 3a: Select available staff
Sometimes candidates for project roles can be found in the host organization. But not all organizations, or less organized groups of people, have corporate capacity. They have to rely on external resources, on-demand.
Step 3b: Recruitment Process
Traditional HR processes focus on corporate roles (for example Project Manager in company X). Corporate roles remain vague project involvement. Actual assignment to projects depends on many factors and opportunity is limited (as there is less choice).
In contrast, HR advocated here is on-demand, driven by actual projects, and leads to more agile organizations.
Step 4: Assign Roles and Processes
The next step is to assign roles and processes to individuals. Project Team Formation is based on the HybridP3M standard for project organization. Every team member needs to understand his or her role in the project.
Assignment of roles and processes is supported by a simple user interface. The first step is to add team members, registered users, in the context of Project Management. The latter enables 'Role Management', which involves assignment of one or more roles. Finally, 'Role and Responsibilities Management' enables assignment of process responsibility.
Step 4 and step 5 can be skipped if you prefer to focus on a confidential recruitment process.
Step 5: Validate Project Organization
The final step is to perform a check on the integrity of the project organization. Validation of the Project Organization according to HybridP3M means that you should identify missing roles or processes, and potential conflict in terms of responsibility. This can be done manually.
