Have we been really honest regarding the human in space? Consider the effect of radiation of some sort intercepting the human story for some period of time also lack of gravity if we get it right or not.

Have any of these engineers considered the jet stream? Even near the ground , the highest skyscrapers can sway 6 ft. or more at their top floors. The air speed in the jet stream can reach 200+ mph, and averages over 100 mph, plus it shifts. Imagine the strain on any construction.

Suppose we make a rope with desired mechanical properties. How would we take it 42,000 km up in the space?

I did read articles that said that while space elevators may not be feasible for earth, on planetary bodies like Mars or the moon with their lighter gravity space elevators could be built using present-day technology. The real trick is getting enough technology and machinery TO these planets in the first place.

It's pretty well demonstrated at this stage that a space elevator on earth is impossible given current technologies, but I'd love to see someone go into detail regarding the practicity of a space elevator on Mars or the moon. I feel like there's actually potential there.

I heard about the space elevator for the first time 15 years ago. I do not think it can be attached to the ground. It will need to be an elevator from a high altitude air balloon ship to space. It is more reasonable to build an air base than a ground connected elevator.
