Introduction
Introduction to HybridP3M: Hybrid Project Management and Agile mindset.
The popular discussion on Agile is complicated and diverse. I believe that Agility is a continuum of management overhead (for the benefit of greater control) and flexible delivery (for the benefit of greater customer satisfaction) as opposites. The delivery mode, binary or hybrid, plays a key role in this continuum. Although agile product delivery strongly correlates with an agile delivery mode the notion of agile has greater meaning and should be analyzed in the context of enterprise-wide project management, at a higher level, in order to better understand the concept of agile project management, as opposed to traditional management (without hybrid elements). This flexible approach characterized by a trade-off means that HybridP3M is a generic project management method. Depending on the industry and type of project, including the delivery model, agility is a variable.
The intended audience for this book includes project management team members who seek a robust project management methodology which combines the benefits of predictive and agile methods. The defined processes consist of sub-activities which need to be executed in order to achieve functional achievement (to do what is required in different process, and thus, knowledge areas). Functional achievement based on optimized processes is the main goal for project teams. Project or programme success depends on it to a very high degree. In other words, functional achievement is a critical success factor for successful projects / programmes.
